I think you get out of your business what you put into it. If you slap up listings on one site, doesn’t matter what site, and then do nothing more, are you really running a business? No! You’re running a garage sale where you placed one ad but didn’t even bother to put signs out around town. You have to work to make a business successful, not just put your stuff in one spot and hope others will find you.

Hey, caught John’s video from eBay show for the first time and think he’s a great speaker! Want to talk about doing a conference for Printing Industries of America (Integrated Print Forum 2012) – on social media and how to actually engage with potential clients there… these folks are also interested in learning to do more via e-commerce (web-to-print) – it’s an industry where salespeople traditionally bring in the biz – e-com works for some but not all take advantage.

We are considering our own website. I have tried Amazon. More expensive than eBay and with just as many restrictions (rules). It is past time to take control of our business.
It is NOT too late Henry, go for it and get started today. The key to success with your own store is to learn how to drive traffic. Remember, that is what we pay the big money to eBay and Amazon for is the traffic. So on your own site, you will be responsible for that part of the equation.
