I 2nd what Enngga says. eBay works for me, however, I hate (like 10′s of 1000′s of the other sellers) the changes that have happened.
I will work with it though, and just plug along. However, I will no zip the lip, as they say, squeaky wheel gets the grease.
I will not stomp on other people’s dreams about eBay. I encourage newbies to sell. They never experienced the old eBay like myself, so they don’t know what they are missing anyhow. Go for it.
Happy upcoming birthday!!!!! Muahhhhhhhhh xoxoxoxoxo

Great video John. Yes eBay will work great for some, and not as well for others.
The main thing to realize is that 99% of what you do as a seller is on YOU, not eBay, or anyone else.
While it’s good to point out things that can be changed for the better, obsessing about thing you don’t like, will only bring you down. It’s energy wasted that could be better spent on your success.
Take care
Walt

So, to all those who say to get off ebay…where do they all go? everyone talks about all of these other sites but lol, where are the sites? on the moon? lmao….i listed a item on ebay yesterday and received three bids on it….i agree with John Colderice…

RIGHT ON! It’s about time someone stood up against all the negativity out there. There’s a movement to destroy an industry…let’s beat ‘em back! We’re not gonna take it!

Love your passion! Do what you gotta do is what I say some like it hot and some not! LOL! I know the value of eBay as an eBayer myself. Here’s a good read “The Dip” by Seth Godin one of my favorites! Check it out.

John, you’re my boy, but I have to respectfully disagree. Ebay is working for me, but I’m a long time seller. I’m a semi-regular on the seller central discussion board. I go there to find out what the mood is on Ebay and for company. But more importantly I go there to help other sellers, many of whom are new.
John, you would not believe how many new sellers are running into unfair problems because of Ebay policy. Fraud is running rampant. Crooked buyers seem to prey on new sellers because they’re an easy mark. Ebay, in almost all cases, shuts the door down to communication and favors the buyer. Then they turn around and say in the Town Hall meeting, that some some problems are to be expected and you should work loss into your business plan.
Ebay needs better communication. Griff is currently answering questions on the board, but it’s just not enough. I love Ebay and I want it to succeed, but I cannot turn a blind eye to blatant, fixable problems. When a seller has to come to the discussion boards for advice and solutions because Ebay will not communicate, that’s unacceptable. I have not been hit with fraud, but a lot of my fellow sellers have and that affects me. I could be next, you could be next.
Let’s not sugar coat this. Ebay has issues that needs to be addressed, even Griff has admitted so much.
Sorry, I went on. Go Obama!

Those of us who have “live” venues ie, antique mall booths, flea market sales, home businesses, do not have to sell on ebay. Ebay was a nice extra chunk of cash, but for the aggravation, and now, risk of losing an item along with the cash, it’s just not worth the trouble. The fees are way to high for the amount of customer support the site gives a seller (none).
I don’t know who you speak to when you have a problem, but maybe you have a direct line to someone on the inside? Most of us have no support at all. That’s also unacceptable…
