This was one of the things that I mentioned to the eBay rep that called me a few weeks ago to get my opinion on the new eBay stores. She said that she had no idea what I was talking about.
We’re now paying eBay for our customers to be enticed by ads that may get them to leave our live auction or current store listing. :-(
Right on the money as usual, John! Keep up the great work!

Now imagine if you are an affiliate driving them traffic. You get nothing unless the person that clicks your link to eBay buys something. But if they click on one of those ads you just gave eBay free traffic and they got paid for it.

It’s unethical is what it is. Donahoe, like so many of these new breed scum MBAs, wants it all. It’s a terrible business plan with no room for growing the site. But that’s okay. When Ebay implodes, he’ll walk off with a lot of money he doesn’t deserve.

I yelled about this a few weeks ago – just not very effectively – when I found ToyRUs ads pulling in when I did research on puzzles. I didn’t see an announcement about it, did you??

Why would you post as “corp America” instead of Zappos, since your IP address says Zappos.com?

    That is odd?!?
